As part of its mission to increase access to health care through the innovative use of technology, the California Telehealth Network (CTN) has partnered with Solix, Inc. to reach a goal of doubling the amount of funding awarded by the Federal Communications Commission’s Rural Health Care Program (RHC) to providers in the state. RHC enables access to and discounts for telecommunications and broadband services. It is estimated that seven percent of RHC funds awarded nationally currently go to providers in California. The RHC programs include the Rural Health Care Pilot Program (RHCPP), Healthcare Connect Fund (HCF) and Telecommunications (formerly known as the Primary) Program.

The combined expertise and experience of Solix and CTN offer California health care providers valuable expertise in optimizing available Federal and State broadband subsidy programs. Eligible health care providers who are not RHC or CTN participants and need help with the application process, as well as active RHC and CTN participants who are not receiving maximum subsidies, can benefit from the services and guidance this new partnership offers.

Solix is a leading provider of program administration, eligibility determination and complex application services and has 15 years of experience with the RHC program. CTN is one of the largest statewide telehealth networks in the nation dedicated to creating a telecommunications infrastructure that supports medically underserved and rural Californians. To date, CTN has built a network of more than 750 health care provider locations.

“We are pleased to add Solix as a CTN partner in our efforts to use broadband to make health care more accessible to underserved communities,” said CTN President and CEO, Eric Brown. “With a relatively small amount of RHC subsidies coming into California right now, Solix’s depth of experience with the program adds great value for our growing network of health care providers and will help bring more broadband funding for rural and safety net providers in California that are most in need.”

“Solix looks forward to assisting CTN in its overall mission and to enabling providers to gain substantial support,” said Solix CEO Jack Miller. “By helping providers secure maximal RHC funding in addition to the assistance available from the state’s own California Teleconnect Fund, qualified organizations in California will be better positioned to deliver quality care while optimizing resources.”

Solix’s expertise in managing highly complex, regulated programs, coupled with customized solutions that deliver efficiency, compliance, and program integrity, have made it a preferred provider for a diverse collection of clients, including those in the public sector, telecommunications, broadband, health care, utilities and insurance industries. Headquartered in New Jersey, Solix also operates facilities in Illinois, Kansas and Texas.
